Mei Lin Fung, chairman of the Institute for Service Organization Excellence is an internationally recognized pioneer, speaker and writer on customer relationships. Her career has been spent at the “bleeding edge” experience in world-class organizations: Core Planning Committee Chairman of Douglas Engelbart’s Bootstrap Alliance 2001-2004; Founder of the Silicon Valley Netmarketmakers’s chapter, 2002 which evolved into the SDForum WebServices SIG, Co-Founder of the Xtreme Internet Conference 2000, Co-Organizer of the world’s largest JAVA Special Interest Group, CityJava 1998, Marketing Chair, Professional and Technical Consultants Association Silicon Valley 1994-7, One of the 2-person skunkworks team that developed the first CRM system implementing Tom Siebel’s vision in Oracle’s Direct Marketing Division, 1989, Director of Finance and Administration for Marc Benioff when he headed Oracle’s Desktop and Direct Marketing Division 1991; Pioneering Team at Intel designing and implementing the “Value-Added” Distribution Channel Program 1987, Author of the first “Geographic P&L” report at Intel, written on a spreadsheet and word processor running on a personal computer 1984, Macro Assembler programming 1979 and Scenario Planning/Operations Research 1982  at Shell Australia;   She worked with the Oklahoma State University Business School and Avaya in developing an innovative public and private customer relations partnership, honored with the American Society of Competitiveness' Phillip B. Crosby Golden Medallion. Mei Lin is on the board of the National University of Singapore America Foundation. She earned her MS (Management) from MIT finding new relevance for her 25 year old thesis on finance “From Bretton Woods to Brazil” and studied under future Nobel Prize in Economics winners : Franco Modigliani and Robert Merton. She earned A’s in every Masters course given by Fisher Black (of the Black-Scholes Options Pricing fame) . Her undergraduate degree is from the Australian National University and she learned English as a 3 year old in Edinburgh. Mei Lin is a native of Singapore and is in the second term of a two year appointment by the Ministry of Information Industry, China as Overseas advisor to the Committee on Contact Centers and CRM. Mei Lin is a native of Singapore, where she has been closely studying the eGov initiatives, and has written extensively on Dell’s transformation into a pioneer of the new social media.
