PFTF-Announce FAQ

Q1. What is the PFTF-Announce email list?

The PFTF-Announce email list is an open-invitation email distribution
list enabled by The Tech Museum and administered by the Program for the Future core team.
It is a "read-only" list whose sole purpose if to send out monthly news updates around
Program For The Future activities that are supported and partially inspired by
the PFTF conference in December 2008.

Q2. How do I get on the PFTF-Announce email list?

Fill out the form at http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce
You will be asked for your name (optional), email address and a password.  You'll receive a confirmation email
and, once you reply to that, voilà! you are subscribed.

Q3. Why do I need a password?

Having a password allows you to go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce
and change your email address, view the message archives, see who else is on the list or unsubscribe yourself, should you so desire.

Q4. Will I get lots of email or spam from this email list?

Once registered, you will receive only one email a month or less, no advertising and no spam.  Period.

Q5. I just changed my email address and am not getting the list emails any more. Please re-instate me.

Go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce, enter your password (which was sent to you by email when you joined the list) and you will be
able to edit your information.

Q6. How can I see if someone else is on this list?

Go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce, enter your password (which was sent to you by email when you joined the list) and you will be
able to see who’s subscribed. 

Q7. How do I see previous messages?

Go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce, enter your password (which was sent to you by email when you joined the list) and you will be
able to view the message archive.

Q8. I forgot my password and lost the initial email.  Now what?

Go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce, enter your email, click the Password Reminder button and your password will be emailed to you.

Q9. Will others be able to see the membership list?

Only other list subscribers can see the emails and names (where provided).

Q10. How do I get *off* this list?

Go to the list site:
http://lists.thetech.org/listinfo/pftf-announce, enter your email address and press the "unsubscribe" button. If you cannot do this, you can also send an email to info@programforthefuture.org to leave this list.

Q11. Some of the information in this FAQ  document is wrong. How can I let you know?
